Steve Collette

I started in financial markets in 2001. I’ve had stints at BBY, Sanlam, Macquarie. I insist on investing personally right next to my clients. Returns underpin the offering yes, but there must be an exchange of values, a rapport that transcends the simple dollar, if there is to be lasting utility that keeps relationships meaningful.

Trading markets for profit will always be difficult. Markets are necessarily amorphous to the extent they remain driven by the perception and action of actors whom are not strictly quantitative. Until any participant ‘solves’ for markets, which even now is not particularly foreseeable, there will continue to be opportunities as pertains to price under emerging conditions. Further, investment alternatives might aspire to give clients something meaningful that transcends a simple dollar return.
